Clinical Pilates

Clinical Pilates is a specialised, Myotherapist-led form of exercise therapy that uses Pilates-based principles to assess, treat, and rehabilitate the body.

Unlike general fitness Pilates, it is grounded in musculoskeletal science and delivered by qualified health professionals — meaning every session is informed by your individual assessment, medical history, and functional goals.

The method draws on the core principles developed by Joseph Pilates — breath, control, centring, concentration, precision, and flow — and applies them within a clinical framework. It is used to address pain, restore movement, prevent injury, and improve overall body function across all stages of life and fitness.

Where a regular Pilates class follows a set sequence for the entire group, Clinical Pilates is built around you. Your program is continually reviewed and progressed as your strength, mobility, and confidence improve.

Clinical Pilates is for everyone *

There is no baseline fitness level, age, or body type required. Clinical Pilates is inherently adaptable — the same framework can support a 75-year-old recovering from a hip replacement and a 28-year-old marathon runner managing a hamstring injury. Our practitioners meet you exactly where you are.

People Managing Chronic Pain

Whether you've been living with back pain for years or recently developed a persistent condition, Clinical Pilates offers a structured, progressive path toward better function and reduced pain.

Clinical Pilates is an ideal bridge between the acute phase of recovery and returning to full activity — building strength, mobility, and movement confidence in a safe, supervised environment.

Injury Recovery

Athletes & Active Individuals

From injury prevention and movement efficiency to performance optimisation, Clinical Pilates complements training loads and helps athletes move more effectively under pressure.

Our practitioners are trained in pre- and post-natal care, supporting you through pregnancy, birth preparation, and postpartum recovery with appropriately modified programs at every stage.

Pregnancy & Postpartum

Older Adults

Maintaining strength, balance, and bone density as we age is essential. Clinical Pilates is one of the most effective, joint-friendly ways to stay strong, independent, and confident in your body.

For those living with osteoporosis, osteopenia, or low bone density, Clinical Pilates provides weight-bearing and resistance-based exercise that stimulates bone formation safely. Programs are carefully designed to build skeletal strength while minimising fracture risk — a critical balance that requires clinical expertise to get right.

Bone Strengthening

Diabetes Management

Regular structured movement is one of the most powerful tools in managing both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Clinical Pilates improves insulin sensitivity, supports healthy body composition, and builds the consistency of exercise that underpins long-term metabolic health — all in a low-impact, supervised environment that can be adapted around your needs.

What to Expect

01

Initial Assessment

Your first session is a one-on-one, 60-minute physiotherapy assessment. We take a thorough history, assess your movement, identify areas of weakness or restriction, and discuss your goals in detail.

02

Personalised Program

Based on your assessment, we design a program specifically for you — selecting exercises, equipment, and progressions that match your current level and address your specific needs.

03

Sessions & Progression

You'll begin working through your program in supervised sessions — individually or in a small group. As you build strength and confidence, your program is regularly reviewed and progressed.

04

Long-Term Wellbeing

Our goal is to help you move well for life. Whether that means continuing with ongoing sessions or graduating to independent exercise, we support you in building sustainable habits.
