No, generally you do not need a referral from your doctor to see a Myotherapist or Dietitian.
However, you do require a referral to see a dietitian if:
You are claiming a Medicare rebate under an Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC) or Eating Disorder Treatment Plan (EDTP). Your care plan will state how many treatment sessions be allocated to Dietetics. For EPCs, a maximum of 5 sessions can be approved per calendar year across ALL allied health practitioners (not just Dietetics). For EDTPs, a maximum of 20 sessions can be approved per calendar year.
